Just one more slightly related question.
I have a white vertical | separating my sublets but i cannot find anywhere to adjust the colour or background colour of these separators. It recently appeared white when it was not before.

The color of the separator is the foreground color of the panel, hence it's :fg_panel. Maybe this should be another single color option?

Oh you're right. I didn't see that as I assumed fg_panel was something else.
I'm not sure about making it another option, but in a default setup from what I can tell it only affects separator colour, because I don't see that white/grey anywhere else in subtle.

If it's only the separator and stipple(??) affected by fg_panel then maybe they could be separated out and named more clearly, especially as stipple is off by default.
But it doesn't matter much as long as people understand. We could just add another line of comment to subtle.rb explaining.

Right, you got a point there. The panel foreground is more a relic from a prior version, the only thing this influences is the separator and the stipple as you said. I just thought it would be more contiguous when there is a foreground for the panel as well. Guess the comment will do, but still a problem that this name of the color is a bit misleading.
